  • Rampage, Coyotes annouce affiliation extension
    Phoenix Coyotes general manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed a new affiliation agreement with the American Hockey League’s San Antonio Rampage, extending their relationship through the 2010-11 season. Fifteen Rampage players skated in the NHL with Phoenix in 2007-08, including 2004 second-round draft choice Enver Lisin (pictured).

  • Moose sign goaltender Goehring
    The Manitoba Moose announced the signing of goaltender Karl Goehring. Goehring had a 2.20 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage in 2007-08, going 15-9-2 with two shutouts in 29 total appearances for Syracuse, Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He was also 7-6 in the playoffs with the Crunch, leading them to a first-round series victory over Manitoba.

  • Islanders sign two AHL All-Stars, several others
    The New York Islanders, parent club of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announced today that they have signed 2008 AHL All-Stars Mike Iggulden and Brett Skinner to one-year, two-way contracts. Iggulden led the Worcester Sharks with a career-high 66 points (29-37-66) in 2007-08, while Skinner paced all Providence Bruins defensemen with 47 points (7-40-47).

  • Lightning ink former Calder Cup champion Wyatt Smith
    The Tampa Bay Lightning, parent club of the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, today announced that they have signed free agent center Wyatt Smith to a one-year, two-way contract. Smith, a 2004 Calder Cup champion with Milwaukee, skated in 40 AHL games for the Lake Erie Monsters during the 2007-08 season and ranked fifth on the team with 35 points (17-18-35).

  • Capitals ink three-time AHL All-Star
    The Washington Capitals, parent club of the AHL’s Hershey Bears, have signed free agent center Keith Aucoin to a two-year contract. Aucoin, 29, split time in 2007-08 between the Carolina Hurricanes and the AHL’s Albany River Rats, for whom he totaled 45 points (8-37-45) in 38 games. The Waltham, Mass., native has played in each of the last three AHL All-Star Games.

  • Maple Leafs pick up Grabovski from Canadiens
    The Toronto Maple Leafs, parent club of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, have acquired forward Mikhail Grabovski from the Montreal Canadiens, parent club of the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, in exchange for the rights to defenseman Greg Pateryn and Toronto’s second-round draft pick in 2010. Grabovski won a Calder Cup championship with Hamilton in 2007.

  • Canadiens sign defenseman Henry
    The Montreal Canadiens, parent club of the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, announced today the signing of free agent defenseman Alex Henry to a one-year, two-way contract. Henry, who played for the Bulldogs from 1999-2002, has spent the last two seasons with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals. He tallied 16 points (3-13-16) while playing all 80 games for the Admirals in 2007-08.

  • Islanders sign goaltender Danis
    The New York Islanders, parent club of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have signed goaltender Yann Danis to a one-year, two-way contract. The 27-year-old Danis (pictured) has a record of 81-67-18 with a 2.78 GAA and .908 save percentage in 176 career AHL games, all with Hamilton. He won a Calder Cup championship with the Bulldogs in 2007.

  • Bears bring back former Calder Cup champion Mink
    The Hershey Bears announced today that right wing Graham Mink has been signed to a contract for the upcoming 2008-09 season. Mink, 29, returns to Hershey after spending the last two seasons with the AHL’s Worcester Sharks. He was a member of the Bears’ 2006 Calder Cup championship team, tallying 21 goals and 40 points in 43 regular-season games that year.

  • Flyers ink forward Raduns, defenseman Curry
    The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the AHL’s Philadelphia Phantoms, have signed free agent forward Nate Raduns to a one-year contract and free agent defenseman Sean Curry to a two-year deal. As a rookie in 2007-08, Raduns registered 27 points in 56 games for the AHL’s Worcester Sharks. Curry posted 38 points in 72 AHL games for the Providence Bruins.
